How do you get a great rate and a great home at the same time? Pre-qualification with Gateway Mortgage Groups Lock, Shop and Drop program. As soon as we have an application then the home buyer can decide if they want to lock the current rate for 30 days while they look at homes.
This serves two purposes:
1. The home buyer does not have a fear of what rates are going to do while they shop
2. When they find that home in the 30 day window the home buyer can immediately make an offer
Once Gateway has the contract, the rate is extend an additional 45 days for closing. That covers the Lock and Shop portion. If the rates drop between the lock and the purchase agreement the home buyer can re-lock at the lower rate. Lock, Shop and Drop
